Brett
Glick - Joined the SWCD in
2008 and was appointed Chairman in 2009. Brett and his brother farm and operate L&M Glick Seed Inc. They also operate
Brothers Beef, a third generation natural grass fed beef operation. Brett has a Bachelor Degree from
Purdue University in Agricultural Economics. Brett is an advocate
of rotational grazing, sustainable agriculture and the ethically treatment
of livestock. Brett is an elected Supervisor and his
term will expire at the end of 2010.
Adam Hall - Joined the SWCD in 2005 as an Associate Supervisor and served as Chairman from 2006 to 2008. Adam works full-time for EMCON Technologies and represents the County's urban community. Adam has a Bachelor Degree from Purdue University in Agronomy and a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Adam is a promoter of Low Impact Development (LID) and backyard conservation. Adam is an appointed Supervisor and his term will expire at the end of 2009. Shane Meier - Joined the SWCD in 2007 and served as the Co-Chair from 2007 - 2008. Shane farms over 2,500 acres, most of which is long-term no-till. Shane has a Bachelor Degree from Indiana University in Finance. Shane is a strong proponent of cover crops and no-till as a way of improving soil structure and crop yields. He was also a recipient of the Indiana River Friendly Farmer Award. Shane is an elected Supervisor and his term will expire at the end of 2009. Ed Engelau - Joined the SWCD in 2009 as a Temporary Appointed Supervisor and will be voted on as an elected Supervisor in 2010. Ed has farmed full-time since graduation from Columbus North High School in 1994. Engelau Farms consists of Ed, his father Harold and brother Jason, operating in three counties; Bartholomew, Jackson and Jennings. Engelau Farms was awarded the Gilman O'Neil Award for Conservation Farming in 2009. Daryn Romine - Joined the SWCD in 2009 as a Temporary Appointed Supervisor and will be voted on as an elected Supervisor in 2010. Daryn is the owner of Romine Tile Service and farms with his father. Melissa Sporleder - Was hired by the SWCD in September of 2007 as the District Coordinator. Melissa lives south of Vernon in Jennings County, and is a 1985 graduate of Jennings County High School. She also has a Business Administration degree. She has two sons, Evan 21 and Hunter 11. Melissa has a strong belief in Urban and backyard conservation.
