Clean Water Indiana (CWI) Grant

Clean Water Indiana Grant:

2012

The 2012 Clean Water Indiana Funds are going out to help farmers promote soil health. If you are a farmer who is involved with cover crops, nutrient management, and no-till, you may apply to receive $20 per acre for up to 100 acres. We will need to get a nutrient management plan from you and help you set up a conservation plan. Top priority will go to those in the MRBI watershed. The cut-off date to apply is FEBRUARY 2, 2012. Applications can be picked up from the office after the first week of January.

2011

$6000 Distributed for Cover Crops

Thanks to the Clean Water Indiana Grant, our SWCD was able to provide qualified farmers with $10 per acre for help with applying cover crops! Not only did we help farmers who are seasoned professionals at applying cover crops, we were also able to help some farmers apply cover crops for the first time! A total of 600 acres were funded, and all of the fields were in the area of the MRBI (Mississippi River Basin Initiative).
