
The SWCD is governed by five supervisors, each a resident of the county, three elected and two appointed.
Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 5:00pm.

Dennis Brooks (Chairman):
Dennis was elected Chairman of the SWCD Board
in 2011. He is a life long
resident of
Dennis followed in his family’s footsteps
and is also a small farmer in
Adam Hall (Vice Chairman): Adam joined the SWCD in 2005 as an Associate Supervisor and served as Chairman from 2006 to 2008. Adam works full-time for Cummins and represents the County's urban community. Adam has a Bachelor Degree from Purdue University in Agronomy and a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Adam is a promoter of Low Impact Development (LID) and backyard conservation. Adam is an appointed Supervisor and his term will expire at the end of 2012.
Scott Maley: Scott joined the SWCD in 2011. He has been married to his wife Janet for 26 years and they have two sons, Jordan (23) and Caleb (18). In 1995, Scott’s family moved into and purchased the family farm of roughly 140 acres. Their farm has been in the Maley name since 1881. Scott is a Lieutenant on the Columbus City Fire Department and is a past V.P. of the Columbus Fire Dept. Local Union 2190. He is a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
Daniel Lienhoop: Daniel joined the SWCD in 2012 as an appointed supervisor.
Brian Arnholt: Brian joined the SWCD in 2012 as an elected supervisor.
Heather Shireman: Heather started at the district in April 2011 and is a promoter of backyard conservation. She grew up in Hendricks County, Indiana, where she attended Cascade High School in 2005. Afterwards, she attended Franklin College, where she received a B.A. in Biology & Chemistry in 2009. She now resides in Columbus with her husband, Glen Shireman. She is also a volunteer firefighter and basic EMT. Her hobbies include: hunting, fishing, & golfing....and of course watching GREEN BAY PACKERS FOOTBALL!
Liz Marthaler: Liz started at the district in February 2012. She grew up in Bartholomew County, Indiana, where she attended and graduated Columbus North High School in 2007. She then attended IUPUC before transferring to Ball State University. In December 2011 she graduated from Ball State with a B.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Management with a concentration in soil and water conservation. She also recieved a minor in geology. Before becoming the watershed coordinator she spent her summers working at Columbus Youth Camp teaching kids about the environment. She currently resides in Columbus. Her hobbies include: camping, hiking,crafts, and backyard conservation landscaping.
